7th Grade Math

10/02/17 – This week students start I Ready, the timing of lessons may change slightly. Proportionality Using Ratios, Glencoe Math Chapter 1, Lesson 4, page 33. Students will work several problems from the Independent Practice section during class. For studying at home students should look back over the problems worked in class, as well as, problems in the Extra Practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/04/17 – Test on lessons 4 and 5.

10/10/17 – We will be reviewing for a test on lessons 6, 7, and 8. Students will be given a worksheet to work on during class. For preparing for the test students should review problems that they have worked in each section.

10/11/17 – Brief review and Test on lessons 6, 7, and 8.

10/12/17 – We will be working on Chapter 2, Lesson 1. Page 103. Students will work several problems from the Independent Practice section during class. For studying at home students should look back over the problems worked in class, as well as, problems in the Extra Practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/13/17 – We will begin Chapter 2, Lesson 4, page 129. The last half of class will be spent on I-Ready.the problems worked in class, as well as, problems in the Extra Practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/16/12 – We will begin Chapter 2, Lesson 3, page 129. For extra practice students should work on problems worked in class, as well as, the extra practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/17/12 – Students will be given a worksheet on percent proportion and cross products to work on in class. For studying at home students should look back over problems worked in class.

10/18/17 – Test on Chapter 2, Lessons 1 and 3.

10/19/19 – We will begin Chapter 2, Lesson 5 on page 144. For extra practice students should work on problems worked in class, as well as, the extra practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/20/19 – The first 30 minutes of class will spent on Chapter 2, Lesson 4. The rest of class will be spent on I-Ready.

10/23/17 – We will be working in the Glencoe math book on Chapter 2, Lesson 5, page 144. For extra practice students should work on problems worked in class, as well as, the extra practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/24/17 – Today the students will begin Chapter 2 Lesson, 6, on page 151. For extra practice students should work on problems worked in class, as well as, the extra practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/25/17 – We will work through Chapter 2, Lesson 7, on page, 159, and briefly review for the test tomorrow. For extra practice students should work on problems worked in class, as well as, the extra practice section at the end of the chapter. The test will be on knowledge learned in lessons 5, 6, and 7.

10/26/17 – “Test”

10/27/17 – The students will spend the class period working on I-Ready.

10/30/17 – We will review using the number line for adding, subtracting, multiplication, and division.

10/31/17 – We will review proportional relationships

11/01/17 – No class for students – parent conferences.

11/02/17 – We will use a worksheet to cover markup problems using the formula n=(1+r) x w. Where n=the new total, w=the original total, and r is the rate or percent in decimal form.

11/03/17 – We will use a worksheet to cover markdown problems using the formula n=(1-r) x w. Where n=the new total, w=the original total, and r is the rate or percent in decimal form.

11/06/17 – Students will be given a worksheet on mark downs. We will spend the first 45 minutes of class working on the worksheet. They should finish the rest at home for home work.

11/07/17 – We will begin Chapter 2, Lesson 8, page 167 in the Glencoe math book. For extra practice students should work the problems in the independent and extra practice sections of the workbook.

11/08/18 – Students will be given a worksheet on combining amounts and combining rates. We will work all or most of the worksheet in class. Students will test tomorrow. They should review all 3 worksheets they have been given. The one on mark ups, mark downs, combining amounts and rates, and they should also review the problems worked in Chapter 2 lesson 8 in the Glencoe workbook.

11/09/17 Students will begin Chapter 7, Lesson 4 in the Glencoe mathbook on page 575. For extra Practice at home students should work several problems in the extra practice section of the chapter.

**11/27/17**

Students will be given a worksheet on multiplying expressions using the distributive property. For practice at home students should continue to work problems given in class, and/or rework the problems worked in class.

**11/28/17**

Students will be given a worksheet on factoring expressions using the distributive property. For practice at home students should continue to work problems given in class, and/or rework the problems worked in class.

**11/29/17**

We will be working on Chapter 4 page 375 using the distributive property in review for a test tomorrow. For studying students should go back over the worksheets worked Monday and Tuesday. For extra practice they can work through the problems in the Guided practice and Independent practice sections of chapter 4. For parents helping students study, you can look over the examples in chapter 4 pages 375-377. (Ignore example 7).

We will begin one step equations with addition and subtraction in Chapter 5, Lesson 1 page 437.

**12/04/17- **We will be working on Lesson 2, Page 447. Students will begin working on the Independent Practice section in class. For extra practice at home students can work on the Extra Practice section on page 453.

**12/05/17 – **Students will given a worksheet in class on two step equations. For extra practice at home they should go back over the worksheet and work any problems not finished in class.

**12/06/17 – **Today we will be working on Lesson 4, Page 470. Students will work on the Independent Practice during class. They should work on the Extra Practice section of the lesson for extra practice at home in preparation of Common Assessment 15 tomorrow.

**12/07/17 – **Common Assessment 15 (Test)

**12/08/17 – **Begin Review for 2nd Nine Weeks Exam and I-Ready.
