Monday – 03/05/18 – Students will be working on worksheets from Mathland to develop knowledge of statistics and valid sampling. They will also work on problems to practice skill making inferences and predictions. We will briefly review adding, subtracting, and multiplying integers.
Tuesday – 03/06/18 – We will review and students will be given a study guide for common assessment 22 (Test) on Wednesday.
Wednesday 03/07/18 – We will begin class with a brief review of vocabulary, processes, and calculations involved with statistics sampling. The second half of class will be spent on CA #22.
Thursday 03/07/18 – Students will begin learning about dot plots. The La Math Course 2 book, page 576 will be used for practice problems.
Friday 03/08/18 – Students will begin working on box and whisker plots. The LA Course 2 book, page 588 will be used for practice problems.
Monday 03/12/18 – Students will work worksheets from Go Math lesson 11.2 page 341 and 345, Comparing box and whisker plots.
Tuesday 03/13/18 – Students will work on the study guide in preparation for common assessment 23. Students should have and understanding of spread, mean, median, mode. Students should have an understanding of Q1, Q2, Q3, and Q4. Quartals. They should also practice comparing box and whisker plots.
Wedensday 03/14/18 – Students will take CA 23. The first half of class we will do a brief review.a
Thursday 03/15/18 – Students will begin review for leap. We will use a Mathland worksheet to cover Graphing proportional relationships.
Friday 03/16/18 – We will review percents using the equations n=(1+r) x w and n=(1-r) x w. This is where n is the new total, r is the percent in decimal form, and w is the original total. n=(1+r) x w is used when adding things like sales tax or interest. n=(1-r) x w is used when taking discounts, markdowns, or payroll taxes. Grades go in this week for 3rd nine weeks.
Begin 4th nine weeks –
Monday 03/19/18 – Students will practice skills on integers and rational numbers using the benchmark study guide working problems 11-16. We are now doing leap review.
Tuesday 03/20/18 – Students will practice skills using the distributive property on the benchmark study guide problems 17-21, and we will review for CA#24.
Wednesday 03/21/18 – We will review briefly and students will take CA# 24
Thursday 03/22/18 – Students will practice their skills solving 2 step equations on the benchmark study guide. Problems 27-30.
Friday 03/23/18 – Students will apply their knowledge of combined figures to the benchmark study guide. Problems 27-30
Monday 03/26/18 – We are reviewing preparing for leap and the yearly final. Today students will review Theoretical and Experimental probability.
Tuesday 03/27/18 – Students will review the tree diagram and sample space. (Page 733). We will also review the fundamental counting principal (Page 757).
Wednesday 03/28/18 – We will review mean, median, mode, and range. We will also go back over dot plots and box and whisker plots. Page 828. Students should go back over everything covered for the week in preparation of common assessment #25
Thursday 03/29/18 – We will review the first half of class to help the students prepare for CA#25, and the second half of class we will test.
Friday 03/30/18 – Easter Break Begins – Happy Easter!!!!!!
Monday 04/09/18 – Friday 04/13/18 – We will be going over the benchmark assessment and leap interim study guide in preparation of the leap test next week. This will include all materials covered since the beginning of the year.
Monday 04/16/18 – Friday 04/20/18 – We will be reviewing probability, populations, and sample sets. Lessons 9 and 10 in the Glencoe workbook. Pages 770 and 789. The schedule for the week is up in the air. 7th grade will taking the leap this week. Since it is review, the students have seen the material multiple times. We may have an assessment on Friday. If not it will be early next week.
Monday 04/30/18 – Friday 05/04/18 – This will be the last week of testing. This week we will review box and whisker plots, scale drawings, and the distributive property (including factoring). All of these things have been covered already this year. If this weeks schedule goes as planned, students will receive a study guide on Thursday for a common assessment (Test) on Friday.
