Mr. Douglas 7th Grade Math

Monday – 03/12/18 – Students will be working on worksheets from Mathland to develop knowledge of statistics and valid sampling. They will also work on problems to practice skill making inferences and predictions. We will briefly review adding, subtracting, and multiplying integers.

Tuesday – 03/13/18 – We will review and students will be given a study guide for common assessment 22 (Test) on Wednesday.

Wednesday 03/14/18 – We will begin class with a brief review of vocabulary, processes, and calculations involved with statistics sampling. The second half of class will be spent on CA #22.

Thursday 03/15/18 – Students will begin learning about dot plots. The La Math Course 2 book, page 576 will be used for practice problems.

Friday 03/16/18 – Students will begin working on box and whisker plots. The LA Course 2 book, page 588 will be used for practice problems. This marks the end of the 3rd nine weeks grading period.

Begin 4th Nine Weeks

Monday 03/19/18 – Lesson 4, 828. We will begin class by review homework from the weekend on Mean, Median, Mode, and Range. If parents want to help students at home watch Mean, Median, and Mode toads at home on you tube. Lesson 4 includes dot plots and box and whisker plots. Today the second half of class will be on dot plots only. For extra practice at home students can work the dot pot problems in the extra practice section of the lesson. Students will be given notes today in class that are not contained in the text.

Tuesday 03/20/18 – We will continue working in Lesson 4 on page 828. The day will be spent on box and whisker plots. Students will be given notes that will help them that are not contained in the text. For extra practice at home students can work problems in the extra practice section of the lesson.

Wednesday 03/21/18 – We go over the study guide to prepare for CA#23 on Mean, Median, Mode, and Range, Dot Plots, and Box and Whisker Plots.

Thursday 03/22/18 – We will briefly review and then students will take CA #23. “Test”

Friday 03/23/18 – We will begin leap review. Today we will work worksheet dealing with proportions from Mathland.

Monday 03/26/18 – Students will be taking the Leap 360 interim.

Tuesday 03/27/18 – We will begin reviews to prepare students for leap and their final. The first half of class we will be covering percent mark ups and mark downs using worksheets. The second half of class we will be working on rational and irrational numbers. We will review using the text and students will work several problems on the interim study guide for review.

Wednesday 03/28/18 – Students will practice skills using the distributive property on the benchmark study guide problems 17-21, and we will review for CA#24.

Thursday – 03/29/18 – We will review briefly and students will take CA# 24

Friday 03/30/18 – Begin Easter Break – Happy Easter!!!!!!!

Monday 04/09/18 – Friday 04/13/18 – We will be going over the benchmark assessment and leap interim study guide in preparation of the leap test next week. This will include all materials covered since the beginning of the year.

Monday 04/16/18 – Friday 04/20/18 – We will be reviewing probability, populations, and sample sets. Lessons 9 and 10 in the Glencoe workbook. Pages 770 and 789. The schedule for the week is up in the air. 7th grade will taking the leap this week. Since it is review, the students have seen the material multiple times. We may have an assessment on Friday. If not it will be early next week.

Monday 04/29/18 – 05/04/18 – This will be the last week of leap testing. This will be the last week of leap testing and most of the testing being done will be make ups. Monday is a little up in the air as we do not know what the schedule for the day will look like. My 4th and 8th period class finished their study guide on Friday and will test the next time I see them. They should have studied over the weekend and will test the next time I see them. My other 2 classes will finish the study guide (probably Monday) and then they will test (Most likely on Tuesday). The rest of the week will be review of things we’ve been over all year. Students will be given a study guide at the end of the week. They should study the study guide next weekend and will test on Monday 05/07/18.
