**Start of 2nd 9 weeks**

10/16/17 – We will go over problems assigned for homework on the Independent practice from Chapter 2, Lesson 1. – Ready.

10/17/12 – We will begin Chapter 2, Lesson 3, page 129. For extra practice students should work on problems worked in class, as well as, the extra practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/18/12 – Students will be given a worksheet on percent proportion and cross products to work on in class. For studying at home students should look back over problems worked in class.

10/19/17 – Test on Chapter 2, Lessons 1 and 3.

10/20/19 – We will begin Chapter 2, Lesson 5 on page 144. For extra practice students should work on problems worked in class, as well as, the extra practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/23/19 – The first 30 minutes of class will spent reviewing problems in Chapter 2, Lesson 5. The rest of class will be spent on I-Ready.

10/24/17 – Today the students will begin Chapter 2 Lesson, 6, on page 151. For extra practice students should work on problems worked in class, as well as, the extra practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/25/17 – We will work through Chapter 2, Lesson 7, on page, 159. For extra practice students should work on problems worked in class, as well as, the extra practice section at the end of the chapter.

10/26/17 – We will go back over skills learned in lessons 5, 6, and 7. Students will be given a study guide to prepare for the test.

10/27/17 – Brief review for CA#10 (Test)

10/30/17 – CA#10 (Test) will given the first half of class. The rest of class will be spent on I-Ready

10/31/17 -This week will be spent on review. We will review integer rules for adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing. We will also review least common denominator. We will use these rules to work problems on a worksheet to be finished for homework.

11/01/17 – No school for students – parent conferences.

11/02/18 – We will review rates and unit rates. We will work a worksheet that students should finish at home for homework.

11/03/17 -We will cover markups (tax, tips, gratuity) Students will be given a worksheet to work on in class and then to finish eventually at home. Students will be given CA 11 as a take home test.

11/06/17 – Students will be given a worksheet on mark downs. We will spend the first 45 minutes of class working on the worksheet. We finished the first 5 problems on the worksheet in class today. The last 5 problems should be done for practice at home. This will be material that they will see on their test on Thursday.

11/07/17 – We will begin Chapter 2, Lesson 8, page 167 in the Glencoe math book. For extra practice students should work the problems in the independent and extra practice sections of the workbook. We covered all the examples in class today. Students for homework should do the Guided Practice problems at the end of the lesson.

11/08/18 – Students will be given a worksheet on combining amounts and combining rates. We will work all or most of the worksheet in class. Students will test tomorrow. They should review all 3 worksheets they have been given. The one on mark ups, mark downs, combining amounts and rates, and they should also review the problems worked in Chapter 2 lesson 8 in the Glencoe workbook.

11/09/17 – Test on mark ups, mark down, simple interest, and combining amounts and rates.

11/10/17 Students will begin Chapter 7, Lesson 4 in the Glencoe mathbook on page 575. For extra Practice at home students should work several problems in the extra practice section of the chapter.

11/13/17 – Students will work on I-Ready during class today. They will be giving a shopping project worksheet to carry home. Please be sure they spend time on this. It will help build their skills when dealing with real life math. The contains information on discounts (sale items) and sales tax which is a markup. This is due on Thursday of this week and will count as a minor grade.

11/14/17 – We will begin Chapter 7, Lesson 4, in the 2nd Glencoe Math workbook. (Page) 575. We will complete the “Got It” problems and the Guided Practice section in class. For extra practice students should work on the Independent Practice section at home.

11/15/17 – Students will be given worksheet in class. We will work through a guided lesson in which students should take very good notes. Students are to finish the worksheet at home.

11/16/17 We will review the materials covered in class on Tuesday and Wed. to build on students skills and check for understanding. We may have a short quiz to count as a minor test grade at the end of class depending on the days schedule.

11/17/19 – The schedule for the day is a little uncertain because of the Fall Festival. This may be more of a fun day for the students.
